When you begin to look at all the work it takes for us to function at our best on a daily basis its truly insane. We are not only responsible for ourselves but also for hundreds of other tasks. No wonder we are overwhelmed and looking for ways to escape from  it all. Finding healthy ways to get away is not hard but it requires dedication. Here are some methods you can use to help cope effectively with the day to day.

  • Take time to organize and plan your day. If you are prepared, then it will be less overwhelming.
  • Focus on setting aside time to see how you are doing and what changes you can make to improve your overall well-being.
  • Learn to recognize signs and patterns of behavior that lets you know that you have overloaded yourself and need to regroup. Don't wait until you are mentally exhausted to make changes.
  • To ensure you are moving away from thoughts to harm yourself in any way, take time to write your thoughts down and practice replacing these thoughts with positive affirmations, activities and coping skills.
